Let the Sunshine In

Today it has been SUNNY all day. woo hoo!!!! Didn't realize what a difference it makes when the sun is out. Wore my "must be an American sunglasses" today. It looks totally different with the light turned ON. The fields are vivid and lush green. Hard to describe. We see big, fat, wooly sheep, furry horses and silver squirrels each morning on drive to school. We have also seen 2 foxes. The first was sitting in a front yard in a residential neighborhood just watching the cars go by. A Local told me foxes come into town to go through the trash cans for food. maybe the raccoons in Dallas let it be known that no fox was going to interfere with their dinner. The other fox was looking for food beside the train tracks.
The kids are picking up on this urban life. Even though we are living in a small town, we are just off the high street and across from the train station. There is lots of activity all the time. People rushing to and fro all hours of the day. Oh yeah, forgot to mention the night club across the street. It closes at 2:00am and then the patrons all walk to the train station. Since our bedroom window faces that street, there are lots of interesting things to hear.
Today L and B were running across the crosswalks with the locals, leaving me behind to wait for the green walk sign. They wanted to walk home from the mall by themselves, but I just wasnt ready for that - made them walk with me and carry the groceries. First things first.
They are learning how to read the train map and finding the platform we need to board from. Finally, they have figured out the ticket machine. The locals are walking very fast and have no patience for 1st timers at the entrance stalls where you enter your ticket. If I can just get the kids to put the ticket in the right way, we will be good.
